INSTRUCTORS

Jonas Diego

Jonas has been a comic book professional since the year 2000. He is a contributor to the comic book anthology Siglo: Passion which won Best Comic Book of the Year at the National Book Awards held by the Manila Critics Circle on August 31, 2006. He produces comic books for US and UK independent publishers for a variety of traditional (print) and non-traditional channels (mobile content and webcomics).

Manix Abrera

Manix is one of the country's most popular cartoonist. A graduate of Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines at Diliman, he is the creator of the popular comic strip, Kiko Machine serialized daily at the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Visprint Publishing publishes and distributes his Kiko Machine comic strip compilations. He is currently taking up his MA at UP Diliman.

Ariel Atienza

Ariel is a graduate of Fine Arts from the University of Santo Tomas. He has been a lifelong cartoonist, is one of the founders of the artist group, Artist's Den, and also has been teaching cartooning as far back as 2005. His works have appeared on various publications such as Live the Life, Candy, Fusion, Philippine News, Topak, and Nosebleed Magazine.

Andrew Villar

Andrew, or teacher Andrew, as many of his old students affectionately call him, is a teacher by trade but a comic book creator by heart. He is a contributing comic book artist to the Manila Bulletin and a High School Teacher and Arts and Media Coordinator for the Community of Learners School for Children.

Johnny Danganan

Johnny has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of the Philippines in Los Banos but has been a disciple of the arts all his life. He is an inner dance practitioner and healer, a painter (oil, pastels, watercolors, and acrylic), an avid blogger, and a comic book fanatic.
